The Farm

Yes! However, please arrange your visit with us in advance.

We’re not open to the public & we’re a small crew that keeps very busy. Please first inquire about a good time to visit so that we can make sure we have the time to dedicate to your visit.

No, we are not currently certified organic.

However, we are Certified Naturally Grown, a peer-reviewed certification that upholds the highest standards of the organic movement.

The land we steward is managed using regenerative organic practices & our CNG certification assures our community & customers that our practices & products are free from GMOs & synthetic chemicals.

Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) means that we don’t use synthetic herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms. Essentially, we operate as an organic farm.

However, compared to USDA Certified Organic, CNG certification is a much more affordable & accessible means of certification for farmers using ecological production methods.

Plus, CNG certification is entirely transparent & open to the public. You can find inspection reports, our signed declaration, & more on our profile on the CNG website.

One of our most favorite parts about being CNG certified? Each year our production practices are peer-reviewed by another local farmer at a pre-arranged visit to our farm to ensure the programs integrity. We love the community-supporting-community bonus of this part!

To learn more about what our CNG certification means, please visit the Certified Naturally Grown website.

Medicinal Herbs & Herbalism

To keep your herbs as fresh & potent for as long as possible, we recommend transferring your herbs to airtight containers & storing them in a dark, dry, & cool place.

Our best herb storage tips:

  • Store them in airtight containers. Glass jars with tight fitting lids or vacuum-sealed bags work excellent. The less air the herbs are exposed to, the fresher they’ll stay!
  • Store them in a dry & cool location. Heat & humidity will quickly degrade the potency of your medicinal herbs.
  • Store them out of direct light by storing them in dark-colored containers such as  amber-colored glass jars or keeping them in a dark cabinet.

No. If wanting to use herbs to help with specific health conditions, we recommend that you consult with a licensed healthcare practitioner or experienced clinical herbalist first. While we have extensive formal herbalism training, we’re not clinical herbalists & cannot recommend herbs or herbal products to treat or prevent disease.

However, we’re always happy to provide educational resources! Herbalism has always been the medicine of the people. It’s our goal to help increase access to not only high quality, potent, & effective medicinal herbs, but to also help increase access to herbal education.
